JOB DESCRIPTION
ARE YOU AN EXPERIENCED MEDICAL FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST LOOKING FOR A NEW OPPORTUNITY? We are a growing, busy specialty practice looking for an experienced Medical Front Desk Receptionist. This is full time position, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Desirable benefits package offered after your 90-day introductory period. Must have prior MEDICAL front desk experience.
Applicants who do not meet the above criteria will not be considered.
To Include But Not Limited To
- Operates multiline telephone system. Answers incoming calls in a warm and caring manner, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel.
- Schedules appointments for patients over the phone.
- Transfers calls or takes and delivers accurate messages, according to office policies, when appropriate personnel are unavailable. Answers questions and provides callers with address, directions, and other information.
- Greets and directs patients, salespeople, and visitors in a friendly manner.
- Schedules appointments and enters appointment date and time into computerized EMR and gives patient an appointment card.
- Handles patient registration, verifies patient's records are up‑to‑date & accurate, and updates all information in the computer.
- Assists with scanning and records copying according to office policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Medical Insurance companies.
- Maintains confidentiality of records.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Detail oriented.
- Must adhere to all guidelines in place for prevention of spreading of viruses.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Good hygiene.
- Friendly demeanor.
- Computer knowledge/typing.
- Good verbal and written communication. Good spelling.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Able to be friendly, helpful and courteous to patients in person and on the phone.
- Ability to understand and perform duties of position
- Able to complete a complex variety of tasks in an organized manner.
- Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures relating to position.
- Ability to look ahead and monitor the appointment schedule so that booking is adequate and not over booked.
- Able to treat patients and staff with consideration and respect.

- Compensation starts between $18.00/hr. and $20.00/hr. depending upon experience.
